Enjoy the Cherry Blossoms of Shinagawa City:
Spring in Full Bloom!

This issue showcases places in Shinagawa where you can enjoy cherry blossoms. The city has famous spots as well as charming local ones popular among people in the community.
You can find blossoms in various other locations as well. This is the season to catch the blooms, so don’t miss out!
(Blossom time: between late March and early April)


Cherry Blossoms along the Meguro River

Meguro River

Over five hundred cherry blossom trees line the banks of the Meguro River. When the petals start to fall, the river is blanketed with them and turns pink.

Nearest stations:Tennozu Isle, Shimbamba, Osaki, Gotanda, and Fudo-mae


 


The slope of Gotenyama

Gotenyama

Gotenyama has been a famous spot for viewing cherry blossoms since the Edo Period. Rows of cherry trees line the street on the slope of Gotenyama and along Gotenyama-dori Street.

Location:3- to 5-chome Kita-Shinagawa
Nearest stations:Kita-Shinagawa Station and Shimbamba Station


 


Kamuro Hill

Kamuro Hill

Kamuro Hill, which is lined with rows of cherry trees, is one of the One Hundred Views of Shinagawa. When in full bloom, the cherry blossoms there form a flowery tunnel.

Location:4-chome Nishi-Gotanda, 1-chome Koyamadai

Tachiai-doro Street and Cherry Tree-Lined Street in Nishi-Koyama

Tachiai-doro Street and Cherry Tree-Lined Street in Nishi-Koyama

Rows of cherry trees stretch along Tachiai-doro Street for two kilometers between Nishi-Koyama and Hatanodai. When the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, they form like a tunnel over the street.

Location:6-chome Ebara, 1-chome Hatanodai
Nearest stations:Nishi-Koyama Station and Hatanodai Station


 


Sakura-shinmichi Avenue

Sakura-shinmichi Avenue

Rows of cherry trees line the avenue. During cherry blossom season, the area near Hamakawa Park draws considerable crowds.

Location:3- to 6-chome Minami-Oi
Nearest stations:Omorikaigan Station and Omori Station


 


Near Keihin Canal Green Way

Keihin Canal Green Way

There are several huge parks along the Keihin Canal, and cherry blossoms are everywhere. Take a leisurely stroll in the park and enjoy the blooms and other natural scenery.
