The 32nd “Traditional Crafts & Tastes of Shinagawa Exhibition”

The arts and crafts on display include vivid Edo-kiriko (Edo cut glass), wasai (Japanese dressmaking), and Tokyo tegaki yuzen (Tokyo yuzen dyeing with hand-drawn patterns). You can see the traditions and history that developed in Shinagawa and listen to stories about these topics. Get creative at an experience corner taught by master artisans and enjoy the various events scheduled. Please come!

Date and Time: February 11 (national holiday) and 12 (Sun.), 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Event Hall, Curian7F (in front of Oimachi Station)

Craft demonstrations:
Edo-kiriko (Edo cut glass), wasai (Japanese dressmaking), Tokyo kiritansu (Tokyo paulownia wood chests of drawers), hyogu (picture framing), urushi kogei (lacquerware), tatami, kusakizome tebataorimono (textile work using plants as dyes), chochin moji (paper lantern calligraphy), kotto shuri (antique repairing), Tokyo tegaki yuzen (Tokyo yuzen dyeing with handdrawn patterns), nihon shishu (Japanese embroidery), Edo sudare (Edo bamboo blind), butsuzo chokoku (Buddhist statue sculpting), pottery, kanaami (metal mesh) and ribiyo hasami (hairdresser scissors)

Cooking demonstrations:
Japanese tea, bread, Japanese sweets and rice
