Shinagawa Tourism Association Recommendations Vol. 3
Metropolitan Oasis—Enjoy Basking in Nature at Yashio!

In this issue, we’ll describe a shinrin-yoku (“forest-bathing”) spot where you can enjoy natural scenery by the waterways. Forest bathing reportedly has a relaxing effect and relieves stress, since trees release beneficial negative ions. All you have to do is stroll through them!

Keihin Canal Green Way

This is a narrow park stretches for about 2.5 km along the Keihin Canal. It is a great place for jogging and walking.


MAP 2

Oi Green Way

This is a park that runs along the Metropolitan Expressway Bay Shore Route. It has a hill and waterways where you can see spot-billed ducks and various insects.

Oi Central Seaside Park—Sports Forest

This park was closed for construction in preparation for the Olympics, but has been partially reopened since the Olympics Games were postponed.

Oi Central Seaside Park—Nagisa Forest Nature Observation Path

You can see various trees and wild birds along the path.

<Nature Observation Path Hours>
April through September: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
October through March: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Closed on Mondays.)
Note: May be closed due to inclement weather.

Oi Central Seaside Park—Nagisa Forest Nature Observation Path

At Sculpture Plaza, located in the Nagisa Forest, you can see sculptor Goro Kakei’s work Unique Three―Three Styles.


MAP 6

Oi Central Seaside Park—Nagisa Forest Maintenance Building

This building displays photographs of wild birds and plants that can be found in the park, as well as an exhibit using fallen leaves.

Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (may be closed if circumstances require it)

● While you walk and explore, please keep in mind the importance of preventing the spread of infectious diseases by keeping your distance from others and taking other countermeasures.


MAP 7

Sunset Nagisa (Shore)

The shoreline along the Keihin Canal is a great place to watch a beautiful sunset.
Note: The north side of the fence is off-limits and fishing is prohibited because this is a tideland conservation area.
