Tsuyu (rainy season)

 

There are 4 seasons in Japan, but the time when there is a lot of rain from spring to summer is called Tsuyu (rainy season). Around Kanto area, the Tsuyu (rainy season) usually begins around June every year, with constant rain until the middle of July, and then full-scale summer comes. Hydrangea blooming at this time, snails often found on its leaves are a seasonal feature of the rainy season.
