Shinagawa Eco Festival 2019

Let’s Expand the “Eco-no-Wa” (Circle of Ecology) Together!

Enjoy various exhibits and attractions related to ecology. Expand your knowledge of environmental activities! Head to Shinagawa Central Park on May 26 (Sun.).

 

Date and time: May 26 (Sun.), 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Note: Will be held even in light rain
Locations:
Shinagawa Central Park (in front of the Shinagawa City Office) and Small and Medium Enterprise Center (1-28-3 Nishi-Shinagawa)
Notes:
1. Shinagawa City Office parking lots cannot be used.
2. The number of bicycle parking spaces is limited. Please use public transportation.

• Environment exhibition booths
• Environmentally friendly workshop
• Booths selling food, drink and other products
• Eco Quiz Rally
• Flea market
• Stage performances—Dance show, wind instrument performance, Kankyo Sentai Eco Ranger Show, eco-experiment performance, Shinagawa tourism ambassador Cinnamoroll stage performance, children’s clothes makeover fashion show, Shinagawa exercise demonstration and more.
• Attractions—Mini-train/freeway ride experience, Olympics/Paralympics competition experience and more
• Rides on fuel and battery-operated vehicles (10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.)
• Food drive (charity to contribute unused food at home)
• Solar craft class

   

● Eliminate disposable plastic products
At this event, we will be using paper cups and straws and environment-friendly containers made from raw sugar cane pomace to eliminate disposable plastic products.

● Use personal shopping bags
As a rule, plastic bags will not be provided for taking items home from the booth, so please bring your own bag.


The Small and Medium Enterprise Center Festival takes place at the same time.

Date and time: May 26 (Sun.), 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Small and Medium Enterprise Center (1-28-3 Nishi-Shinagawa)
• Exhibits featuring various types of artwork (photographs, ikebana, pressed flowers, calligraphy, India ink paintings, seal engraving, tanka poetry, etegami [hand-drawn postcards] and more)
• Sale of traditional Shinagawa foods, including grilled rice dumplings, Japanese sweets and more
• Fureai Workshop product sale corner (handmade accessories, recycled bicycles and more)
• and more

Events
• Demonstrations of traditional crafts (wasai [Japanese dressmaking] and wazao [Japanese fishing rods])
• Family igo classes; 10:00 a.m. to noon
• Knife-sharpening (up to 2 knives per person; reception open until 2:00 p.m.)
• Family woodcrafts class (making mosaic tiles and nameplates)
• Tea ceremony section
• Sunday Concert Special, 1:00 to 3:45 p.m.
