The City Office Reorganized in April

Organizational aspects of the City Office changed in April to handle new administrative issues and provide you with even better services. The changes are as follows:

● Newly Established Section
〇 Section Chief in charge of Building Planning (Property Management and Contract Section): Plans and examines maintenance policies, such as for Shinagawa City Office buildings.
〇 Section Chief in charge of Total Support Facility for Disabled People (Welfare Section for Handicapped Residents): Promotes the establishment of comprehensive support facilities for children with disabilities and a support system for collaboration with the community.
〇 Section Chief in charge of Passive Smoking Countermeasures (Health Care Services Section): Implements the planned promotion of countermeasures against passive smoking and clerical works related to information dissemination/education.
〇 Section Chief in charge of Nutrition Administration (Public Hygiene Section): Strengthens cooperation with Health Service Centers and the section in charge of food hygiene on consultation and guidance related to food labeling laws and health promotion methods.
〇 Section Chief in charge of Consultation and Support (Educational Total Support Center): Strengthens our consultation support system on issues such as students refusing to attend school and bullying problems, and fosters cooperation with the Children’s Guidance Office and other organizations.

〇 Child Upbringing Section—Old: Children’s Consultation Subsection → New: Unit in charge of Children’s Consultation
〇 Child and Family Support Section—Old: Section Chief in charge of Consultation for Single-parent Families → New: Consultation for Single-parent Families Subsection
〇 Nursery Section—Old: Enrollment Consultation Subsection → New: Unit in charge of Enrollment Consultation
〇 General Affairs Section—Old: Facility Subsection → New: Unit in charge of School Building Maintenance and Construction
Old: Unit in charge of School Building Coordination → New: School Building Planning Subsection

● Names of Posts to Be Integrated
〇 Section Chief in charge of Community Consultation (Community Promotion Section): We will integrate the operations of the Section Chief in charge of Community Consultation into the Community Support Subsection.
〇 The Children’s Allowance Subsection and the Medical Care Subsidy Subsection (Child and Family Support Section): We will integrate these subsections and establish the Allowance and Medical Care Subsidy Subsection.
