Greenery and Flower Festival

Shinagawa City is home to many parks offering comfortable spaces for relaxing or enjoying a range of activities. In the spring and fall, we hold special events and sales of flowers and seedlings at following venues.

 

Higashi-Shinagawa Sea Park

(3-9 Higashi-Shinagawa)
April 14 (Sat.) and April 15 (Sun.), from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Program: Tulip festival, pressed-flower corner, sales of seedlings and more
Park information: Higashi-Shinagawa Sea Park is located by Tennozu-minami Canal, into which the Meguro River flows. There are a slide shaped like a whale and a fountain. There is also a boardwalk along the canal and a garden on the roof of the pumping station.

Togoshi Park

(2-1 Yutakacho)
April 21 (Sat.) and April 22 (Sun.), from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Program: Distribution of seedlings raised in the park, special parent-child photo opportunities and more.
Park information: The park was built using the remaining garden at the residence of the Hosokawa clan, the feudal lords during the Edo Period (1603–1867) from the Higo region (present day Kumamoto Prefecture). A circular promenade features an arrangement of valleys, waterfalls, an artificial hill, etc., centring on a pond to keep the aspect of Daimyo garden.

Shinagawa-kumin Park

(3-2 Katsushima)
April 28 (Sat.) and April 29 (national holiday), from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Program: Old-style games, crafts and more
Park details: The park is divided into areas for various activities called Sakura-no-Hiroba, Sports-no-Hiroba, Asobi-no-Hiroba, Shio-no-Hiroba, etc. It offers playground equipment, sports facilities—such as a baseball ground, tennis courts and swimming pools—and day camping grounds, along with a 10,000-square-meter artificial pond filled with seawater, known as the “Katsushima Sea.” The Shinagawa Aquarium is also located on-site.

We will be distributing recycled garden soil free of charge
Gardening soil collected from the particular spot and regenerated will be distributed at each venue for free. The soil is distributed each day till the planned amount of the soil is gone.
Note: The distribution of soil at Higashi-Shinagawa Sea Park and Shinagawa-kumin Park is limited to Saturdays only.
