Starting October 1, Shinagawa City Will Deliver National Health Insurance Cards via Registered Mail

October is the renewal period for National Health Insurance cards, which are updated once every two years. Your new card will be sent to you via registered mail. Please turn in your old health insurance card to the National Health Insurance and Pension Section or your local community center.
Notes:
1. The expiration date for the health insurance cards of foreign residents depends on the person’s visa status of residence and authorized period of stay. If your visa expires before September, please complete visa renewal procedures (must be for six months or longer) and then file this notification.
2. If you are enrolled in social insurance, etc., you must file a notification of withdrawal from National Health Insurance. Please call for more information.
