Watch Out for Winter Food Poisoning

Food poisoning caused by norovirus occurs particularly often during winter. Let’s learn how to prevent it and enjoy a healthy winter.

◇ Proven prevention methods
・Wash your hands carefully
・Heat foods thoroughly
・Disinfect cooking utensils

◇ If you suspect food poisoning…
If symptoms such as vomiting and/or diarrhea continue, drink plenty of liquids to prevent dehydration. For more serious symptoms, be sure to get proper treatment immediately at a medical institution.

● Increasing Cases of Food Poisoning from Eating Raw Meat
Bacteria that cause food poisoning, such as campylobacter, may be found on raw meat and organs. Eating these meats before cooking them thoroughly may cause food poisoning.
