●Types of Notifications Required

1. Notification of Moving In (from overseas)
   • ・ When you acquire an address in Shinagawa City after arriving from overseas
   • ・ After submitting Notification of Moving Out to overseas, but returning to Japan at a later date and acquiring an address in Shinagawa City
2. Notification of Moving In (from another municipality)
   • ・ When you move into Shinagawa City from another municipality

   Note:Please note you must submit the Certificate of Moving Out*issued by the previous municipality upon submitting a Notification of Moving Out there.

3. Acquisition of Mid- to Long-Term Residence
   • ・ When you are not eligible for a Basic resident record but newly acquire a mid- to long-term Status of Residence (for example, change from Visitor to Dependent status)
4. Notification of Address Change (within the same municipality)
   • ・ When you move within Shinagawa City
5. Notification of Moving Out (to another municipality)
   • ・ When you will move out of Shinagawa City to an other location in Japan

   Note:After submitting notification, you will receive a Certificate of Moving Out*. Please present this certificate to the new municipality when registering your residence there.

6. Notification of Moving Out (overseas)
   • ・ When you will leave Japan with no plans to return
   • ・ When you have received Reentry Permission but plan to return to Japan after more than one year overseas, having cut your residential ties at the time of departure

●Submission Deadline

• ・ For 1, 2, 4 and 6, submit notification within 14 days of the change.
• ・ For 3, submit notification within 14 days of acquiring a mid- to long-term residence status.
• ・ For 5, until the day you submit a Notification of Moving In to the new municipality.

●Required Items

• ・ Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Card (or valid Alien Registration Card) (for 1-6)
• ・ Passport (for 1 and 3)
• ・ Proof of relationship to the Head of Household, such as a marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc. (for 1 and 3)
• ・ My Number notification card or My Number Card (Individual Number Card) (for 2, 4, 6)

Note:If you submit notification of an address change without your My Number notification card, you will be unable to use the application that came with it since it is printed with your old address. Ask for a new application at the counter when you apply for your My Number Card.

Note:If you forget your Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Card for 1-4, you will need to return one more time within two weeks after the moving day. Please bring the cards for all members of the household.

*If you submitted your Basic Resident Registration Card or My Number Card with your Notification of Moving Out, you do not need to present a Certificate of Moving Out at the new municipality.

●The above notifications are also accepted at certain community centers (Shinagawa Dai-ichi, Osaki Dai-ichi, Oi Dai-Ichi, Ebara Dai-ichi, Ebara Dai-yon and Yashio).
