Municipal Elementary and Junior High School Enrollment Procedures for Foreign Residents

Foreign residents of Shinagawa City who would like to enroll their children in municipal elementary or junior high schools need to complete application procedures. Application forms will be mailed at the end of September to those whose children are eligible for enrollment and who have completed resident registration. Those who have not completed their resident registration and would like to enroll their children in municipal schools should call the City Office.

Eligible:
Elementary school: Children born between April 2, 2009, and April 1, 2010
Junior high school: Children born between April 2, 2003, and April 1, 2004
Note: To apply for junior high school enrollment, the child is required to meet some conditions, such as completing elementary school.
Acceptance period of application for your desired school choice: October 1(Thu.) through 30 (Fri.)
Note: must be postmarked by the deadline October 31(Sat)
Health checkup: To be provided from around November to children who will start the first grade in April
