Small and Medium Enterprises’ Center Festival

There will be many events at the festival, such as exhibits of clubs that conduct activities at the Small and Medium Enterprises’ Center, concerts, and demonstrations of traditional crafts. You can also enjoy the taste of Shinagawa.
Date and time: May 24 (Sat.) and 25 (Sun.), 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

May 24 (Sat.) and 25 (Sun.)

  • Exhibits of artwork (photography, flower arrangement, pressed flower art, calligraphy, watercolor, ceramic art, seal engraving, tanka, picture postcard art, and more)
  • Demonstrations of traditional crafts by Shinagawa Traditional Crafts Preservation Group members (Edo kiriko [Edo cut glass] by Katsuhisa Kawabe, and ukiyo-e suri [printing ukiyo-e] by Taro Ito)
  • Various consultation services on topics such as pensions
  • Goods for sale corner
  • Sale of traditional Shinagawa flavors, including grilled dumplings, Japanese confections, and more

May 24 (Sat.) only

  • Go classes for beginning and intermediate players, taught by professionals, 10:00 a.m. to noon
  • Housing consultation corner
  • Family concert (Shinagawa Classical Music Society), 1:00 to 3:45 p.m.
  • Fureai Workshop products sale corner (handmade cloth goods and recycled bicycles; sale ends when all items are sold)

May 25 (Sun.) only

  • Go classes for elementary school children and older, taught by professionals, 10:00 a.m. to noon
  • Knife-sharpening (up to two knives per person; reception open until 2:00 p.m.)
  • Family woodcrafts class (making mosaic tiles and nameplates)
  • Tea ceremony
  • Sunday Concert Special (Shinagawa Classical Music Society), 1:00 to 3:45 p.m.
