Let’s Beat the Summer Heat at the Swimming Pool!
Information on Public Swimming Pools in Shinagawa City

To help our residents maintain good health, Shinagawa City has indoor swimming pools that are open year-round. During the summer, the outdoor swimming pools at Shinagawa Kumin Park are also available, and municipal elementary and junior high school pools are open to the public as well.

● Shinagawa Kumin Park Outdoor Pools and Wading Pool
Location: 3-2-2 Katsushima

Open Season: July 10 (Wed.) through September 8 (Sun.)
Note: Closed on August 5 (Mon.) and on days in September when groups are scheduled to use the pools.
Hours: Morning: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; afternoon: 1:15 to 4:15 p.m.; evening: Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays until August 31, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Note: Swimmers must exit the pool after each session and buy another ticket.
Types of pools: one 25-meter × 19-meter pool (1.1 meters to 1.3 meters deep); one wading pool for toddlers; and one gourd-shaped pool (0.15 meter to 0.6 meter deep)
Fees: Adults (including high school students and older children): ¥400; junior high school students: ¥200; elementary school students: ¥100. Please purchase your ticket at the vending machine.
Notes:
1. Toddlers (preschoolers) are free of charge.
2. Coin locker fee: ¥10 per use

● Heated Swimming Pools
The heated swimming pools at all facilities are indoors and have six lanes.
The pools are not available when being used by students and during the year-end/New Year holidays.
Fee (two hours): Adults: ¥350; children from four years of age through junior high school students: ¥170
Notes:
1. Children under four years of age are not permitted.
2. Locker fee: ¥10 per use
3. Overtime use costs ¥80 per 30 minutes (¥40 for children from four years of age through junior high school students)
4. Swimming caps must be worn.
5. A parent or guardian must accompany children in the third grade of elementary school (sixth grade in the evening) or younger, and swimming wear is required.
◎ The pools are not open to the public during some days and hours, and schedules are subject to change. Please call for more information.

○ Ebara Cultural Center Heated Swimming Pool

Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 1:30 to 5:00 p.m., and 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.

○ Hino Gakuen Heated Swimming Pool

Closed: Third Monday of the month
Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., 1:30 to 4:50 p.m., and 5:30 to 8:50 p.m.

○ Togoshidai Junior High School Heated Swimming Pool

Hours: 9:30 a.m. to noon, 12:30 to 3:00 p.m., 3:30 to 6:00 p.m., and 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.

● School Pools Open to the Public during the Summer Season
The swimming pools of the following municipal elementary and junior high schools will be open to the public during the summer: Daiba Elementary School, Hosui Elementary School, Dai-Yon Hino Elementary School, Dai-Ni Enzan Elementary School, Genjimae Elementary School, Suzugamori Elementary School, Samehama Elementary School, Fujimidai Junior High School
Open Season: Saturdays and Sundays from July 20 through August 11
Note: Pool schedules vary according to the school. Please inquire for details.
Hours: Saturday: 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Notes:
1. Admission is free of charge.
2. Children under four years of age are not permitted.
3. A parent or guardian (15 years of age or older) must accompany every two children in the third grade of elementary school or younger. Children not accompanied by a parent or guardian will not be admitted.
4. Swimming caps must be worn.
