The First Sunday of Each Month Is Family Day
The family has the greatest influence over the wholesome development of youth, and the home is an important place where a child can develop true sensitivity. To promote the development of happy families, Shinagawa City has designated the first Sunday of each month as Family Day since 1974.

• Create opportunities for families to spend time together and consider the importance of families
• Listen to children when they speak, and make this day a time for close communication
• Call family members who live away from home and strengthen family bonds
