Why Not Participate in Disaster Preparedness Drills in Your Community?

Comprehensive disaster preparedness drills are conducted in 13 districts in Shinagawa City.
The disaster preparedness drill in Shinagawa Dai-ichi District will be staffed by volunteer interpreters, so please participate even if you are not confident about your Japanese.
Date and time: October 14 (Sun.), 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon
Location: Daiba Elementary School (1-8-30 Higashi-Shinagawa)
Program: Practice using a fire extinguisher for initial firefighting, learn how to give emergency first aid (using an automated external defibrillator [AED]), experience what an earthquake feels like on an earthquake experience vehicle, etc.
Languages: English, Chinese, and Korean
Eligibility: Foreign residents who live, work, or go to school in Shinagawa City
Application: Send a fax to the International Affairs Subsection of the Community Promotion Section (Tel: 5742-6691, Fax: 5742-6878) no later than September 27 (Thu.). Please include the phrase “Shinagawa Disaster Preparedness Drill” and give your name, address, telephone number, and to which language you would like interpreted.
