Autumn Is the Best Time of Year for Enjoying Art.
Why Not Visit an Art Museum?

Hara Museum of Contemporary Art
Hara Museum of Contemporary ArtIn 1979, the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art opened and became one of the pioneering museums specializing in contemporary art. The museum’s unique Western-style building and space, which incorporate European architectural styles, are wonderful. Even the tiles and floors have a special ambience. Renovations were made in June 2008 and included installing a new lighting system that uses fiber-optic cables as a measure to protect the artworks. (Compared to other light sources, this system emits a softer light without transmitting as much heat.) Works of art are displayed in all parts of the museum, and many of them make use of the structure of the building. Exhibitions are held five to six times a year.

O Art Museum
O Art MuseumThe O Art Museum is located in Ohsaki New City. With its movable walls, video system, and other equipment, the museum is able to hold various types of exhibitions. The museum takes its name from the O in Osaki and the shape of the circular track of the Yamanote Line. The museum was so named because it was to be a new type of art museum that overflows with contemporary style. The museum is used mainly as a rental gallery by those who live in and outside of Shinagawa City and is known as a local museum that provides individuals and groups with a place where they can display paintings, sculptures, calligraphy, photography, and other artworks, which everyone can enjoy.
