The City Becomes Very Busy Collecting Large-Sized Waste at the
End of the Year

Applications are necessary for the collection of large-sized waste.
Note: Large-sized waste refers to items of which one side is more than approximately 30 cm in length.
(1) Apply
There are two ways of disposing of large-sized waste: calling for individual collection on a weekday or bringing in your item(s) yourself on a Sunday. Please call to apply after deciding which method you would like to use.

Hours: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
● Via the Internet (in Japanese)
Access the Web site (https://www.tokyosodai.jp/shinagawa/index.html) and input your information on the screen.
Note: You can access this page from the Shinagawa City Web site.
(2) Purchase a Large-Sized-Waste Sticker
Purchase the appropriate number of Shinagawa City’s large-sized-waste stickers as instructed when making your appointment from any of the large-sized-waste-sticker agents in the city (such as shops, supermarkets, and convenience stores displaying the identifying sign).
(3) Dispose of Your Large-Sized Waste Item(s)
● Individual collection
Attach Shinagawa City’s large-sized-waste sticker(s) to your item(s) and take it/them to the designated location by 8:00 a.m. on the collection day you reserved.
●Bring your item(s) yourself on a Sunday
Attach Shinagawa City’s large-sized-waste sticker(s) to your item(s) and bring it/them to the Shinagawa City Recycling Center (1-4-1 Yashio) on the designated Sunday (your appointed day) between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Please note that Shinagawa City does not collect the following items:
○ Refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, clothes dryers, TVs, and air conditioners (indoor and outdoor components): Please contact the shop where you are buying a replacement, the shop where you bought the original item, or the Electric Appliance Recycling Reception Center (Tel: 5296-7200).
○ Personal computers (main body and display): Please contact the particular manufacturer for disposal. If you do not know the name of the manufacturer, please contact the PC3R Promotion Association (Tel: 5282-7685).
○ Hazardous items, poisonous chemicals, heat-resistant safes, etc.: Please contact either the store where you purchased the item or a specialized collection company. |
