Why Not Participate in Disaster Preparedness Drills in Your Community?

These drills, which will be held in the Osaki Dai-ichi District, will be staffed by volunteer interpreters, so please participate even if you are not confident about your Japanese.

Date and time: September 5 (Sun.), 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon
Location: Former Dai-ichi Hino Elementary School (6-6-19 Nishi-Gotanda)
Program: Practice putting out a fire with a fire extinguisher, learn how to give emergency first aid (using an automated external defibrillator [AED]), experience what an earthquake feels like on an earthquake simulation vehicle, and more
Languages: English, Chinese, and Korean
Eligibility: Foreign residents who live in Shinagawa City
Application: Send a fax or e-mail to the International Affairs of the Community Promotion Section (Tel: 5742-6691, Fax: 5742-6878, e-mail: chikikat@city.shinagawa.tokyo.jp) no later than August 6 (Fri.). Please include the phrase “Osaki Disaster Preparedness Drill” and give your name, address, telephone number, and to which language you would like interpreted.
Note: In the September 10 issue of City News Shinagawa, we will recruit participants for the drill held in Shinagawa Dai-ichi District (October 17 [Sun.] at Daiba Elementary School).
