Walking along the Tennozu Waterfront

Tennozu Isle Bridge and buildings on Tennozu IsleTennozu WaterfrontIn this issue, we will introduce a route that you can take for a leisurely stroll. The route starts from the front of the two Tennozu Isle stations (one on the Tokyo Monorail line and the other on the Rinkai Line) and heads toward Tokyo Bay, so you will be able to enjoy the sea breeze of the Tennozu-area waterfront as you walk.

First of all, Tennozu Isle is located in front of the Tennozu Isle stations. Many people visit here to enjoy the restaurants, shopping, or theater. As you view the water scenery from Shinagawa Futokyo Bridge, the groups of buildings and passing monorails seem unexpectedly refreshing.

The next spot is Tennozu Park and Higashi-Shinagawa Kaijo Park, located on the other side of Yamate-dori Avenue. The parks have a lot of natural greenery as well as sports grounds. You can enjoy a good workout surrounded by water and natural greenery.

As you walk along the boardwalk on the west side of the Higashi-Shinagawa Kaijo Park, you will see Meguro-gawa River Water Gate, which partitions Tennozu-unga Canal and has a painting of a whale. You can enjoy the unique scenery along the canal. If you cross Tennozu Isle Bridge to the inner part of the park, you will see a fountain plaza and a rooftop garden with 300 types of plants that sits atop a rainwater drainage pump facility.
Because the Tennozu area of Shinagawa City has a lot of attractive water sceneries, it is worth visiting.
