City News Shinagawa

It’s Summer! Let’s Go to the Pool!

Summer is a great time of year to enjoy the pool. Shinagawa City has heated pools (4), an outdoor pool (1) and pools at the local elementary and junior high schools. During the months of July and August, municipal elementary and junior high school pools listed in the chart below are open to the public. The outdoor pool at Shinagawa Kumin Park, which can only be used during the summer, is often crowded with families with children. In this issue we will introduce swimming pools in Shinagawa City.

Precautionary Notes For Using the Pool

Children up to 3rd grade of elementary school age must be accompanied by someone who is of high school age or older. One guardian may accompany up to two children.
*At night, elementary school children may not use the pool without being accompanied by a guardian.
*The guardian accompanying the children must be someone who is able to swim with the children.
Clothes other than swimwear may not be worn in the pool area.
Taking pictures, eating (including chewing gum), drinking and smoking are not permitted in the pool area.
