Shinagawa-ku International Friendship Association (SIFA) Announcements

1. Japanese Language Class (Total of 20 classes)
Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from September 28 through December 7
Morning Session: 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon
Afternoon Session: 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Evening Session: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Courses: Part 1 (for beginners) Morning or Evening Session
Part 2 (for individuals who can read and write hiragana and katakana) Afternoon or Evening Session
Part 3 (for individuals with everyday conversational skills) Afternoon or Evening Session
Tuition: ¥7,000 per course (Textbook fee included)
Eligibility: 18 foreign residents who live or work in Shinagawa (on a first-come, first-served basis)

2. Ikebana Flower Arrangement Class (Total of 12 classes)
Dates:
Fridays, from September 8 through December 1, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Eligibility: 12 foreign residents and 8 Japanese residents (Selected by lottery) who live or work in Shinagawa
Tuition: ¥14,000
Application deadline: August 11 (Fri.) (Must be received by this date.)

Send a completed application form from the Association website or a postcard or fax to the Shinagawa-ku International Friendship Association (Shinagawa City Office Dai-san Chosha 4F, 2-1-36 Hiromachi, Shinagawa-ku 140-0005, Tel: 5742-6517, Fax: 5742-6518, http://www.sifa.or.jp) with the class name (Part and Session as well for 1.), your name (with furigana), address, postal code, telephone number, age, sex, employer information (name, address and telephone number) if you work, and nationality if you are a foreign resident.
*Only one application per person.
