For Collection of Large-sized Waste, Contact Shinagawa City Large-sized Waste Reception Center
The application procedures for the collection of large-sized waste, such as bicycles and furniture, are as follows.
*“Large-sized Waste” refers to items that are household garbage and one side of which is more than about 30 cm in length.
*Items used in companies or offices are not collected under this system.
Procedures for Application and Collection of Large-sized Waste
| 1. Apply for Collection When you have decided to dispose of a large item, please apply for collection using either of the following methods: By Telephone (Tel: 5715-1122) Have paper and pencil handy when you call the Shinagawa City Large-sized Waste Reception Center. They will inform you of the collection date, handling fee, where you can purchase the Gomi Shori-ken (Waste Processing Ticket) and how to dispose of your large-sized waste item. Reception Hours: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. *Closed on Sundays and during the year-end/New Year holidays (December 29 through January 3). Via the Internet (Input in Japanese only) Please access the website (http://www2.city.shinagawa.tokyo.jp/sodai/). You will be informed of the collection date, etc., via e-mail within four days. *Handling fees vary depending on the type of item and size. Please confirm what your fee will be when applying for collection. |
2. Purchase Sodai Gomi Shori-ken (Waste Processing Ticket)

Dispose of Your Large-sized Waste Item on the Designated Day Attach a waste processing ticket to each item and take the item(s) to the designated location (where collection can be carried out easily, such as in front of detached houses or near the ground-floor entrance of apartments and condominiums) by 8:00 a.m. on the designated collection day. *Collection of large-sized waste is conducted from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Collection for all areas in the city is conducted by the Shinagawa Waste Collection Office. |
Please Recycle Items That Are Not Collected as Large-sized Waste
Large Electric Appliances
TVs, refrigerators (freezers), laundry machines and air conditioners are not collected as large-sized waste. Please ask the store where you are buying a replacement, the original store of purchase or the Home Electric Appliance Recycling Reception Center (Tel: 5296-7200) to handle your used item.
Personal Computers
Personal computers are not collected as garbage. Please ask the manufacturer to collect your used item. If the manufacturer of your computer is not clear, please call the PC 3R Promotion Center (Tel: 5282-7685; http://www.pc3r.jp/e/index.html).

Is your furniture clean and still usable? Recycling Shop “Ribbon” Oimachi Branch, operated by Shinagawa City, sells used furniture on a contract basis.
